The Best Summer Events of 2019 on Topsail Island

Topsail Island Surf Fishing Challenge
If you love fishing, then this event is one you won’t want to miss. On May 3-5 there will be a surf and pier fishing tournament. This is the perfect opportunity to get the lines wet before the heat of the summer. There are all sorts of categories, and this is an excellent tournament for the first time competitor. Bark at the Soundside Park May 4, 2019
On May 4, Soundside Park goes to the dogs… literally. Come out and enjoy a walk in the park with your favorite four-legged friend. This free event is great for dog lovers to meet up and share information. There will be loads of local vendors and pet services on sight. The Surf City’s Police K-9 Kada will be there to meet everyone. The event includes a bouncy house for the kids and treats for humans and dogs alike.
Free Summer Music and Movie Series at Soundside Park, Surf City
Each year at Soundside Park the Surf City Parks and Recreation Department puts on a summer music and concert series. The event takes place twice a week. All the events are free and family-friendly for all ages. Alcohol is not permitted at the events. There is no seating so make sure to bring a lawn chair or blanket. 4th of July on Topsail Island
There are 4th of July celebrations all over the nation and several on the North Carolina Coast. However, when it comes time to celebrate Independence Day no place offers as many fun events and fireworks displays as the Topsail Island area. Each year the event gets bigger and better. Ocean City Jazz Festival
The 10th annual Ocean City Jazz Festival will be held on Topsail Island on July 4-7. The festival is a wonderful event that includes so much more than just awesome jazz music. During this three-day event, guests can enjoy music, yoga, dolphin safaris, and a wine and beer tasting. It would indeed be impossible to have a bad time at this festival. Snead’s Ferry Shrimp Festival 2019
If you love all things Shrimp then this festival is for you. Taking place August 9th-11th this family-friendly event is one of the areas biggest events. The 2019 festival celebrates the 50th anniversary of the festival, so it promises to be the biggest one yet. There are all sorts of fun events like shrimp peeling, music, fossil digs, cooking demonstrations and much more. Bring the kids and your appetite because this is sure to be a fantastic event. The dates for this event have not been set yet, but for all you Jeep enthusiasts out there, you’ll want to keep the end of September open. What’s not to love about this event? Jeep and the beach go together like peanut butter and jelly. This year is sure to be another fun event that will draw Jeep fans from all over the region.
