Fireworks
Let's face it, no 4th of July celebration is complete without a spectacular fireworks show, and this year we are lucky to have two of them for visitors to enjoy. These events are not just made up of incredible fireworks. There is so much more, so plan on spending the afternoon with great live music, food, vendors, and kids activities. Holly Ridge & Sneads Ferry Liberty Fest and Fireworks
Date: July 4, 2018
Place: Holly Ridge Municipal Park
Time: 2 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Admission: Free
Events include face painting, inflatables, games, live music, and a massive fireworks display.
Poplar Grove Plantation Events
Just a short drive away from your Topsail Island Beach vacation you'll find the historic Poplar Grove Plantation. Worthy of a visit alone, Poplar Grove also hosts several events that you'll want to check out. For starters there is the Cape Fear BBQ and each Wednesday there is the Farmers Market. Cape Fear BBQ Festival
Taking place on May 12, 2018, from 10 a.m to 6 p.m. this event is perfect for all those BBQ lovers out there. Admission is $5.00. The event features a cook-off, kids activities, live music, arts, and crafts. No pets or coolers, please.
Each Wednesday from 8 a.m. - 1p.m. the Poplar Grove farmers market is the place to be to find fresh veggies, locally made bread, pastries, and all sorts of other local items. Admission is free and even if you just want to grab a cup of coffee and wander around you're sure to have a great start to your day.
9th Annual Ocean City Jazz Fest
Since 2009 the Ocean City Jazz has featured some of the best regional and nationally recognized Jazz artists. A great event to raise awareness about the history of Ocean City, located in North Topsail Beach. You definitely don't want to miss this one. Make sure to bring your dancing shoes.
