HIIT is hot in the workout world and for good reason. It's a high power cardio and strength training workout all rolled into one. Biking on the beach

Biking on the beach is a challenging workout, but what better way to see the Topsail Island shoreline than to pedal your way along the sand? Feel the sun on your face, the salty breeze filling your lungs and enjoy the beautiful scenery that surrounds you. It's a strong leg workout, obviously, as your glutes, calves and quads are doing most of the work. It's also a high-calorie-burning exercise that tones well beyond just your legs. Your whole body will feel it! If biking on the sand is too challenging, you can still bike around town, on local bike paths and explore the bike trails as alternatives. You'll get an instant energy boost, it's easy on the joints, good for the heart and you'll certainly feel it in your muscles.

Walking

With miles of great beaches and quiet streets, Topsail island  is a walker's paradise. Walking offers a ton of health benefits. Since it's a weight-bearing exercise with low intensity, walking is perfect for building and maintaining muscle as well as for weight loss. An easy way to incorporate walking into your day is to walk to the local store or beach access instead of driving. 

Enjoy Yoga

The benefits of yoga have been known for centuries and yoga has been gaining more and more popularity here in the United States. Don't be intimidated by this exercise. With so many benefits it is hard to name them all, but, since you asked, here are a few; lower blood pressure, weight loss, increased flexibility, reduced risk of stroke, reduced joint pain and it provides strength training. In short, yoga offers a whole body exercise. This sport combines all the great benefits of cardio, strength, and agility training into one awesome water activity. Just the act of balancing on the SUP engages your core and requires you to use more stabilizing muscles than many other more traditional exercises.
