Ocean Fest: September Benefit Events

Take advantage of your visit to Topsail by participating in a few of the September Benefit Events hosted by Ocean Fest.

• Oysterpalooza - This event is a fantastic evening full of oysters and fun. Your ticket provides plenty of oysters and other delights. If oysters aren’t your thing, grab something off the grill or check out the food trucks. They will also have craft beer, wine, and seltzers on draft. With music, entertainment, and a children’s area, there is something for everyone.
• Ocean Fest Music Festival - Get your tickets to hear the hottest bands. Enjoy an unforgettable day of music, along with local vendors, eco-exhibitors, and various food trucks. If you’re thirsty, stop by one of the bars serving craft beer, wine, and seltzers.
• Vintage Surf Contest - Presented by Salty Turtle Beer Company, this is a unique and fun surf contest experience. You will want to check this out even if you aren’t a surfer. Participants will ride vintage surfboards from the 1960s and 70s. Surfers will be randomly assigned a vintage board from a curated collection of over a dozen retro sticks. If you are into fun, funky, and surfing, this event is for you!

Sneads Ferry Shrimp Festival 

Make your way to the Sneads Ferry Shrimp Festival. This multi-day event is held in late September and features tons of fun. The weekend kicks off with a carnival. Wristbands are $20 for unlimited rides. As the weekend continues, you can enjoy food vendors, fresh NC seafood, cooking demonstrations, live music, and more. To close the festivities, there is a fireworks display.

Autumn with Topsail Festival 

This three-day annual festival is held annually each October. Over 100 regional artists come together to display and sell their work. Visitors can enjoy live music, fantastic food, a beer and wine tent, a silent auction, and an entertainment area for children. This fall event on Topsail Island is fun for all ages.

Haunted Hundred Bike Ride 

The Salty Turtle Bike Club hosts an annual fundraising ride each October. Participants can choose between a 100K or 50K bike ride in their favorite bike-friendly costume. All proceeds raised from the event benefit the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center. If you have never visited the rehab center, the fall is an excellent time to take a tour and learn about our flippered friends.

Ghost Walk of Pender’s Past 

The Ghosts of Pender's Past is a family-friendly Ghost Walk that explores the legends, tales, and lore of Pender's bygone days. This spooky season event happens in late October and is perfect for those who love a mix of thrills, chills, and history!

Christmas in Pender: Festival of Trees and Wreaths 

Held in late November, the Pender Sheriff's Charitable Foundation hosts the Christmas in Pender Festival of Trees & Wreaths. Visitors can head to the Hampstead United Methodist Church for a visit with Santa, live musical performers, holiday crafts for children, arts and crafts vendors, and more.
