crest over the high rise bridge onto North Topsail, there, centered absolutely in front of you,
is Idyll-by-the-Sea Two, an 8 bedroom, 7 bath, four and 1/2 story grey cottage inspired by the
lost 1883 Peabody & Stearns Shingle-Style masterpiece, Kragsyde. You drive up through the gated
community of Ocean Sound Village, located just off the bridge, to a private road, apart from
traffic where children can ride bikes and play. You drive up to Idyll-by-the-Sea Two, under the
two story porte cochere and you know this is something different and definitely something
special. Come in through the mahogany entrance door to the imported stone foyer, inlaid with a
compass rose. Take the mahogany lined elevator or the heart pine stairs with hand painted tile
kick plates, up to explore the 4 1/2 stories of this charming, beautiful yet very comfortable
home, completely wired for high speed internet access. Floor two finds you amidst a series of
bedrooms (Each room fully outfitted with antiques, ceiling fans, monogrammed robes, down
pillows, & featherbeds.) and baths, as well as one of three laundry rooms and a morning kitchen.
You NEVER have to worry about making your beds here, the house always comes with beds made with
Idyll's own luxury Anichini Italian all cotton sheeting. Did you happen to notice your bath has
a hand painted Mackenzie-Childs fish sink in the wooden vanity, custom crafted in America,
appointed with Hermes soaps and amenities and Anichini towels? Go up half a flight and out over
the porte cochere-there you will find a huge enclosed game room with cork flooring and a
screened-in sunset porch with wood burning fireplace. Here you may watch the spectacular sunsets
over the Intracoastal Waterway. Half a flight up takes you to floor three, where you will find
another laundry room, the truly handicapped accessible bedroom and bathroom, another bedroom,
the great room with woodburning fireplace, and antique cypress wet bar with icemaker, the dining
area with the owner's great-grandmother's antique herb-drying table , and spectacular kitchen
with custom delft tile backsplash and a Honed Lapis Alkemi counter, two dishwashers, double
ovens, five burner cook top, a full refrigerator and a full freezer. There's all the gourmet
kitchen ware you can imagine, like Chantal pots and pans and Henkel knives. (Did we happen to
mention the entire inside of the home has been paneled by very talented craftsman in whitewashed
pine, complemented by heart pine floors, scattered about with antique oriental rugs.) And we've
saved the best for last-- the entire top floor is a custom spa suite with mahogany-floored bath
with a dry cedar sauna, a steam shower with whirlpool footbath, a custom overflow whirlpool tub,
exquisite tile work, two mother of pearl sinks, a handmade mahogany four poster bed, and a wood
burning fireplace, yet another laundry, and a private porch with a Pavilion two person double
deep-cushioned chaise lounge and a cocktail/breakfast table and two chairs- a retreat you might
never want to leave. EACH level has enormous outdoor porches, furnished with an 8 person ocean
view hot tub, multiple chaise lounges (singles and doubles), custom teak sofas, chairs, dining
tables, chairs, rockers--and we haven't even gotten to the finished ground floor outside yet. It
has completely fenced in yards; a true in-ground heated PebbleTec pool with fiber optic night
lights and electric pool cover. The finished ground floor outdoor living area features multiple
custom chaise lounges, dining tables and chairs, three outdoor hot and cold showers and foot and
puppy washes; an outdoor icemaker, grill and outdoor kitchen, hammock, outdoor pool table,
outdoor ping pong table, and beautiful native landscaping. Starting in February of 2007,
Idyll-by-the-Sea will be the home for up to 18 fortunate guests each week in almost 6000 square
feet of heated and cooled space, a private oceanfront pool and hot tub, and over 2700 square
feet of porches and decks, and complimentary high speed internet access. As always, just like
the best five-star hotels, well-behaved dogs and their well-behaved owners are welcome.
Completely outfitted with every baby and toddler need,too (all complimentary of course),pool and
beach towels, chairs and a fax machine, too-. The owners of Idyll-by-the-Sea have been honing
their skills in the hospitality field by operating very high-end vacation rental homes all over
the country for almost ten years now-and have the very real philosophy that they want their
guests to feel like they are staying in the well-appointed vacation home of an absent friend-

Cleaning Fee: A cleaning fee will be added for bookings less than 5 days. Parking: Effective
06-15-05, restrictive covenants provide for no parking allowed anywhere other than garages and
driveways. Vehicles subject to towing at vehicle owner's expense. Please consider this when
making reservations or travel arrangements. Pool Heat: Pool heat will be included May-September.
It can be used for an additional charge in the other months. Hot Tub: There will be a $70 charge
for opening the hot tub in Getaway, Spring Break and Price Break Seasons. Extras tentative and
subject to final verification. The rental and cleaning fees include all luxury Italian Anichini
linens for the baths & beds and INITIAL supplies of paper products, Hermes soaps for the baths,
featherbeds, down pillows, beach towels, towels, beds made in advance and monogrammed robes.
